Project Details
FED are a successful and growing café chain based in Bristol, with cafes already established in Cotham and Gloucester Road.
When the owners acquired a third premises in 2022, there was one challenge to overcome: Converting the property from a former estate agent’s office into a welcoming hospitality venue exuding the brand’s rustic charm.
The solution
We began with the demolition and strip out phase, which saw us gutting the premises back to an empty shell. This included, among other things, removing the ceiling, lighting, electrics, non-structural partition, shelving and flooring. This gave us a blank canvas on which we could create a masterpiece for our customers.
Electrics were rerouted, and new heating system installed. The walls, ceiling and flooring were renovated and given attractive finishes in line with the functionality and aesthetics required for a busy, popular café.
We also constructed a new partition wall to section off a WC and food prep area. The food prep area was given an industrial finish, full stainless steel kitchen, including base and wall units, a sink and drainer unit complete with mixer tap.
The job was finished with a full mechanical and electrical service, including new LED lighting throughout, electrical testing and commissioning and plumbing to the new communal WC.
